I am often inspired by the natural world and my art many times begins with an observation and meditation in nature. I find there is something in its forms, colors, textures and spirit that calls to me. In the process, I make connections with an inner landscape. I am drawn also to explore archetypes, myths and mystical themes that come to me in my own personal process and what I "feel" in the world around me. Sometimes, in order to access this, I will work in a spontaneous way letting the painting reveal itself. These are my favorite surprises, like an oracle, they can reveal a previously hidden idea or truth.
